  1. Wake Up early : 

                            A research paper by Harvard Health Publishing titled “Waking up one hour earlier than usual may reduce depression risk” . The paper suggests that people who regularly wake up an hour earlier than usual, without sleeping less, may be able to reduce their risk of major depression. Most of the successful people who are highly regarded as an intelligent individual  tell us how waking up early in the morning increases the chances of a productive day.

 

  1. Cold Shower : 

            It is one of the popular things nowadays on social media where people are found to be talking about the benefits of cold showers. A research paper on effect of cold showering on health and work written by Geert A. Buijze and his colleagues. The study found that cold showering can reduce sickness absence by 29% compared to the control group. The combination of routine hot to cold shower and regular physical activity resulted in an expected 54% reduction of sickness absence compared to people who don’t do either. Although most cold exposure studies involved cold water immersion, different methods of cold water therapy such as cold bathing and cold showering are used interchangeably and seem to have similar effects.


  1. Meditation : 

            Meditation is one of the most useful/ popular / hard to do things in this list. 

Prishan Nandakumar wrote a research paper titled “The Psychological Effects of Meditation '' which is available on ResearchGate. The paper explains that meditation is a mental practice where an individual exercises their mind to have a state of focus, to train attention, and to create self awareness. The paper also discusses the psychological effects of meditation such as reduced stress and anxiety, improved mood, and increased attention span.


  1. Drink water : 

          A research conducted by the world Journal of psychiatry of more than 3300 individuals showed that participants who drink more water daily have reduced the risk of depression and anxiety. Participants with the lowest level of water consumption were reported to have doubled the risk of depression and anxiety. Hydration reduces panic attack.


Another large study found people who drink five cups or more of water per day were at lower risk of depression and anxiety. In comparison, drinking less than two cups per day doubles the risk.


  1. Lower screen time : 

                     A research paper on the effects of screen time on health conducted by Aris Mosley in 2020  discusses the negative effects of screen time for adults and children and how it can lead to poor sleep time for adults and children and how it can lead to poor sleep quality, obesity, and other health problems . so, lowering screen time will help your mind to follow natural processes and will improve your day and reduce mental health problems. 


  1. Daily writing Diary : 

                                A research paper on the benefits of daily diary writing on health by James w. Pennebaker and Joshua M. Smyth. They found that even a one-time 15 to 30 minute session of focused journal writing can be beneficial. Another research paper explains that consistent expressive writing may help reduce PTSD symptoms. It also suggests that writing at length about a traumatic or stressful event can help manage PTSD. A mental-analysis of 13 studies using expressive writing with healthy participants found a significant overall benefit in objective or self-reported physical health, psychological well-being, physiological functioning and general functioning outcomes.
